At Old Barn Star, each piece of furniture we craft is made to order from authentic reclaimed barnwood and built by hand with care and intention. Because of the unique nature of our products, we want to ensure you’re informed about our return policy, care guidelines, and what to expect when ordering.
Return policy
All purchases are final sale. Each item is custom-made to your specifications using salvaged wood, meaning no two pieces are ever exactly alike. Variations in grain, knots, color, and surface markings are part of what gives reclaimed furniture its vintage charm and character. These are not considered defects and are not eligible for return.
If an issue arises after delivery, we’re happy to help troubleshoot. However:
All sales are final
Due to the custom nature of our handcrafted furniture, we do not offer refunds.
Shipping liability
We are not responsible for any damage that occurs during shipping or delivery by third-party carriers.
Repair responsibility
If a repair is necessary, the customer is responsible for all costs related to returning the item, including packaging and shipping.
Before you order: please double-check your measurements to ensure the piece fits into your home — doorways, stairwells, tight turns, and the room itself.
Furniture care guidelines
Your reclaimed wood furniture is made from solid, old-growth timber that’s spent decades exposed to nature. While it’s strong and full of character, it still needs care to maintain its beauty.
Gentle daily cleaning
Wipe your furniture with a lightly damp (never soaked) cloth to maintain its water-resistant finish and highlight the wood’s natural character.
Skip harsh chemicals
Avoid cleaners with ammonia or silicone. These can damage the finish and strip away the rustic charm of your reclaimed barnwood furniture.
Protect from heat & sun
Keep your furniture away from direct sunlight, fireplaces, and heating units. Extreme heat can cause cracking, fading, or warping over time.
Expect natural movement
Reclaimed wood expands and contracts with seasonal changes. Small cracks or gaps may appear and disappear — this is part of its authentic charm.
Built to age gracefully
Scratches and dents may occur over time. While our protective finish helps prevent damage, no wood finish is indestructible. Occasional touch-ups may be needed.
Long-term beauty
With proper care, your handcrafted furniture will age beautifully. Regular maintenance and mindful placement ensure each piece remains a timeless part of your home.

- How do I track my order?
- You’ll receive a tracking number by email once your order ships. Use it on the carrier’s website to follow your delivery.
- What’s your return policy?

- How long is the build time for an order?
- Estimated build time is 10–16+ weeks. Build times may vary due to holidays, order complexity, revisions, material availability, or other unforeseen delays.
- Is there a deposit required?
- A 10% (or $100 minimum) non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your place in our production schedule. The final balance must be paid in full before delivery or pickup.
- What if my item arrives damaged?
- In the unlikely event your item is damaged during shipping, please take photos and contact us within 48 hours of delivery so we can address the issue promptly.
