Warmer days are on the horizon! Are you as excited as us? We’re thinking yes! A new season always brings new design inspirations and we love getting in on them. The truth is, though, that home decorating is expensive and time consuming. So how do you “keep up with the Jones’s” without breaking the bank? We are sharing some of our favorite tips when we’re feeling a little bored with our space.
Bring in Flowers and Plants
Flowers are a natural and easy way to add a new color in any room, whenever you want. Not to mention – they smell beautiful and are inexpensive! Want to get in on the latest trend? Grab a succulent to place on your living room coffee table. It’s easy to care for and sure to be a hit!
Add a New Coat of Paint
Whether on an accent wall or your favorite barn wood table, a fresh coat of paint is the first step in giving your space a brand new feel. Make it a simple project with some spray paint or step it up a notch with some chalk paint, which gives your furniture a cool matte finish.

Rearrange What You Own
Who’s to say that awesome end table in the living room can’t serve as a nightstand in the bedroom? Take inventory of the pieces you already own and rearrange them to update the look and feel of your home for free!
Clean Your Reclaimed Barn Wood Furniture
Once you’re satisfied with your updated layout and look in your home, be sure to properly clean your barn wood furniture. Some items to avoid when cleaning our barn wood include:
- Silicone-based cleaning or polishing products
- Harsh chemicals such as ammonia, bleach
- Abrasive powders, pads, or steel wools
- Sponges or dishcloths that have been used to clean food or may contain oils
